What this book is about
Keeping with the theme of wondering what snowmen would do if they were humans this book takes us into uncharted territory with a whimsical wondering of how snowmen families would celebrate Christmas. They get up when we go to sleep and go to sleep when we get up, of course, and while they are up they party and have icy treats. The fantasy continues with a snowman Santa and eight snow reindeer.
My experience
My daughter really likes this book. She was given the companion book, Snowmen at Night, for Christmas several years ago and was thrilled to read this one. It’s just the kind of fantasy read that children can appreciate and as a parent I found it nice to read to her as well.
Conclusions
This is a delightful telling that will add to your selection of acceptable Christmas stories. I’ve added it to mine. It also makes a great children’s Christmas gift.
